Within the context of the Orange Knowledge Programme, financed by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nuffic Neso Vietnam in collaboration with Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA), organized the ‘Orange Knowledge Workshop:  Application of Netherlands Technologies in Development of Sustainable Agriculture in Vietnam’.

Orange Knowledge Workshop:  Applications of Netherlands Technologies Development of Sustainable Agriculture in Vietnam occurred on 18, 19, 20 April 2022, attracted delegations of experts, business owners, farmers from different regions and especially with the participation of the Netherlands Alumni who are currently contributing with high achievements in education, research and knowledge transfer in the agricultural sector.

Furthermore, the workshop attracted many young students in the field of agriculture, participating both online and offline. This reflects the learning spirit and the great passion of Vietnamese youth in improving knowledge and skills in the Vietnamese agricultural workforce.

During the 3 day workshops, Nuffic Neso Vietnam and Vietnam National University of Agriculture organized various insightful and inspiring activities for the participants to gain access to the applications of Netherlands knowledge and modern technologies in sustainable agriculture.

The third day of the workshop consisted of inspiring group presentations of the participants, which were evaluated and assessed by the event organizers. The winners were awarded with prizes and commendations.

The workshop successfully transferred knowledge and technology in sustainable agriculture to partners and the alumni of the Netherlands Alumni Network and of the Orange Knowledge Programme, enabling a network environment between companies and institutes of the sector, including:  Wageningen (WUR), HAS, Lentiz, Fresh studio, Agriterra, Rijk Zwaan, the Netherlands-Vietnamese Agricultural Association and the Netherlands Alumni Network in Vietnam.

In conclusion, the event created and brought more benefits to the OKP project at VNUA.

One of the strategies of the horticultural innovation center that OKP project is building is to make a focal point to connect student- research- and industry. During the implementing the project there has been no such similar event that made those ties. We could bring students (local and international), researchers (alumni and others) and industries (VN-NL The Netherlands Vietnam Horti Business Platform; other horticultural companies in Vietnam) all together discussing the role and mission that the Horticultural center is conducting.

At the same time, the NL alumni as well as OKP project alumni (researchers throughout the country taking OKP project short courses) networking were strengthened. There has been no such useful event like that conducted before. This brings benefit for both alumni but also for OKP project.

There are various ways the event communicates/publishes the results of this event will also support OKP project in communication and that is different with the way the project is doing.

Finally, OKP project/horticultural innovation Center is receiving feedback/contact for collaboration after the even this is a clearly significant benefit for the project.
